What can you do with a rear-projection screen, DLP projector, IR LEDs, webcam and plenty of wood-working skills? How 'bout a 56" touch-screen monitor for your PC ... waaayyy cool
What's amazing is that the screen does not work on conventional resistance or capacitive methods but purely on the concept of total internal reflection based on the two surfaces that touch. The concept is so simple yet so effective purely because ALL webcams can pickup IR light (Try it! just point any remote control/IrDA compliant device at a webcam and see the transmitter flash).
Now if only I had the skills required to make the darn thing ... and maybe a projector and screens :D
